Dr. Clemma Nash, MD went to medical school because she knew the lifesaving value of traditional medicine, but she quickly learned that if you have a chronic illness, it is a different story. She saw a pill for every symptom given by multiple physicians, each working from their own view of the problem but with no attention to the potential underlying causes of the symptoms.
Dr. Clemma Nash, MD always knew there was more to medicine than pills and procedures and now focuses on patients with chronic illnesses. She utilizes the functional medicine principle of searching out root causes of imbalance and shifting patients from unwell to well at a deeper and more lasting level. In addition to board certification in Family Medicine, she also is board certified in integrative medicine (ABOIM). She also has extensive additional training in functional medicine, mold illness, and Lyme disease. She is in an ongoing mentorship with Dr. Neil Nathan and Dr. Jill Christa focusing on environmentally acquired illness and has trained with Dr. Tom Moorcroft on the treatment of Lyme disease.
With the tools of traditional, functional, and integrative medicine, she has helped patients with chronic gastrointestinal symptoms, fatigue, thyroid disease, mold illness, autoimmune conditions, and now Lyme disease, and more. Her toolbox far exceeds the training she received as a medical doctor and her expertise both in traditional medicine as well as integrative and functional medicine allows her to see your individual health puzzle from an expert perspective and guide you with a comprehensive, personalized, precision medicine approach helping you open the doors to recovery, healing, and vitality.
Born in Newton, Massachusetts, Dr. Clemma Nash attended rotations at Hudson Medical Center, the Roxbury Health Clinic, and primary care rotations through the Massachusetts Center for Natural Health. Her inspiration continued during work with Doctors Without Borders, an NGO that brings free medical health care to under-served communities in South Africa.
After returning to America, she spent ten years as a full-time emergency physician before becoming Medical Director of the Brookline Stomach Health Center. While there, she became overly aware of the limitations that “conventional” medicine posed. As a response to this, Dr. Clemma Nash began studying Ericksonian hypnotherapy and body-oriented psychotherapeutic methods, along with herbs and supplements that are known to improve stomach health.
The root cause of her philosophy for diagnosing and treating stomach illnesses lies in a comprehensive approach that combines both physical and mental-emotional treatment methods. In addition to utilizing these treatments effectively, she also strives to teach patients that their good stomach health is dependent on:
